Main Project Features
In 2007 the Ministry of Transport has prepared the feasibility study for reconstruction of the international corridor “West China – West Europe” which was followed by preparing a detailed design for reconstruction of the 54-km problematic section in Kyzylorda region from 2 lanes (II category road), to 4 lanes with median (category IB road).
Activities Performed
Provided overall leadership, coordination, and support to the project team in delivering the following outputs: (i) review of feasibility studies and collection of field data (topographical surveys, geotechnical surveys, etc.); (ii) designing longitudinal profile, cross-sections, pavement structure; (iii) designing utilities (power and communication lines, water, heating, sewerage, etc.); (iv) preparing full construction cost tables, including civil works, relocation of utilities, land acquisition, etc.; (v) environmental impact assessment; and (vi) preparing the bill of quantities for contractors.
