Main Project Features
The Study aimed to facilitate the deployment of highly and fully automated vehicles in road traffic along Asian Highway 9 (West Europe – West China International Road Corridor) and increase the common understanding and awareness of the use of highly or fully automated vehicles along the Asian Highways in China, Kazakhstan, and the Russian Federation.
Activities Performed
Conducted research/feasibility study to assess the existing infrastructure and operational connectivity and identify existing conditions and gaps of technologies and infrastructure, including traffic safety, governance, legal, technology, political, social, and environmental aspects of the transport sector in the context of an autonomous vehicles operation. Prepared study report for Kazakhstan and consolidated final study report covering China, Kazakhstan, and the Russian Federation. Presented study findings covering three countries at two international expert group meetings involving over 30 delegates from Asia and the Pacific.
