Main Project Features
The transaction technical assistance (TA) aims to provide project preparation and capacity building support for the proposed Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) Corridors 1, 2, and 6 Connector Road (Kyzylorda–Zhezkazgan) Reconstruction Project in Kazakhstan.
Activities Performed
Assisted in planning and executing a road survey to gauge road users' perceptions, behaviors, and attitudes toward toll roads and road safety. Analyzed the tolling strategy, tolling revenue, maintenance strategy, and maintenance budget for the republican, regional, and district road networks. Conducted a sustainability assessment and developed a pricing mechanism to balance toll allocations and maintenance expenditures. Reviewed the alignment between the strategic plan and budgeting process for capital and operational expenditures in the roads subsector, examining fund allocation and funding options.
